What does DYSPORT® treat?
DYSPORT® is used to treat a variety of aging lines, such as crow’s feet, frown lines, and more. It’s a fast-acting and long-lasting injection that provides natural-looking results without changing the look or movement of your face. It can also be used to treat muscle spasms in the upper and lower limbs, such as the elbows, fingers, wrists, ankles, and toes. Finally, it can be used to treat severe spasms in neck muscles. However, we predominately use it to relax the appearance of facial wrinkles.
What are the benefits of DYSPORT®?
There are many benefits of DYSPORT® injections! For starters, the fill is invisible, giving you subtle results without worrying about changing your natural facial features. How does DYSPORT® work?
DYSPORT® works by alleviating the severe frown lines between your eyebrows by targeting and reducing specific muscle activity. When we repeatedly contract and move our muscles, we inadvertently cause wrinkles over time. One DYSPORT® injection into the five points between and above the eyebrows will temporarily prevent these muscles from contracting, helping to decrease the appearance of frown lines.
How is DYSPORT® different than Botox®?
These products are similar. However, DYSPORT® tends to diffuse better into your muscles, giving a more natural-looking result. This is due to the smaller molecules of its solution. When it is injected, the solution disperses, preventing the line between treated and untreated skin. Additionally, DYSPORT® is injected slightly deeper than Botox®, allowing it to spread over a wider area in your face for better results on larger muscles.

The active ingredient in DYSPORT® is botulinum toxin type A, which is a purified neurotoxin type A complex.
Is there any recovery or downtime?
No! One of the best benefits of DYSPORT® is the lack of downtime and recovery time. The treatment only takes about 10-20 minutes, and you can immediately return to your day. There is no need to recover, as you will show no signs of injection.
How many treatments will I need?
Just one! DYSPORT® is fast-acting, as it only takes two to three days to produce improvement. Additionally, the appointment itself only takes 10 to 20 minutes, allowing you to squeeze it in with your errands.
How long does DYSPORT® last?
DYSPORT® lasts up to five months, allowing you to enjoy your results for longer without needing to come back for additional treatments.
Are there any side effects?
Similar to Botox®, it’s an overall safe treatment. There are slight risks of side effects, such as minor pain at the site of injection, swelling around the eyelids, headaches, rash, and minor irritation. They usually resolve themselves after a few days. More severe and rare side effects include upper respiratory infection, sinusitis, and nausea. Call your doctor if you experience any of these effects.
